Welcome to
the DuPage County (IL) Chapter of The Weston A. Price Foundation. Our chapter's
mission is to provide a supportive
local community for
those who want an energetic and enjoyable lifestyle of eating nutrient-rich, properly prepared whole foods. To achieve our mission, our chapter hosts
fun and lively monthly general meetings, monthly "In the Kitchen"
special events for members, and other events that provide lots of practical information
on supportive
topics. We also provide sources of organic foods,
raw milk products from pasture-fed livestock, and pasture-fed eggs and livestock
in Northern Illinois and surrounding areas.
The Weston A. Price Foundation is a
nonprofit, tax-exempt charity founded in 1999 to disseminate the research of Dr. Weston
A. Price, whose research determined the optimum
characteristics of traditional diets. The Foundation is dedicated to restoring
nutrient-dense foods to the human diet through education, research and activism.
It supports a number of movements that contribute to this objective. You
can visit the Foundation's web site for more information about Weston A. Price, the principles and science supporting his work, nutritional information and practical tips, and the organization's efforts to disseminate and support his
research. http://www.westonaprice.org.
Our regular meetings are held on the first
Sunday of every month at 2:00pm. Although our permanent meeting place is
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Downers Grove, schedule conflicts may occasionally
require a change in location. So, be sure to check this site regularly for location updates.
Our meetings take on different formats depending on the topic, but generally
include speaker presented topics, lively discussions, food preparation
demonstrations, news, and announcements. We host a
potluck of Weston A. Price inspired dishes after every meeting. We also share techniques and
tips for living a traditional-foods and environmentally sustainable lifestyle.
